Belvedere students and staff dressed as their favorite book characters and marched in the annual Storybook Character Parade. Students and families enjoyed costumes, books, and music as they watched the parade.

FCPS is celebrating Digital Citizenship Week from October 21-25, 2019! This year’s theme is Media Balance and Well-Being: Developing a Healthy Relationship with Your Technology. Our school is celebrating Digital Citizenship Week with daily featured segments on our morning news show and classroom activities focused on developing healthy habits around technology use.

At Belvedere Elementary, fourth grade teacher Danielle Thiam and environmental educator Stacey Evers wrote a Keep Virginia Beautiful grant to fund a meditation garden. Students in several grades are creating the garden, which will be a stress-free space requested by school counselors and a music teacher.

Four Fairfax County public schools, including Belvedere, have been recognized as 2019 Virginia Naturally Schools by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. Virginia Naturally Schools is the official environmental education school recognition program of Virginia.

This week band and strings students performed in the winter concert. Students also participated in the PTA Chess Tournament, visited Riverbend Park, and spent cozy reading time in their classrooms!

This week students brought their families to Math Night, experienced Hour of Code, and visited Holmes Run Stream Valley Park!

This week students and staff hosted a luncheon in honor of Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving, and the Outdoor Club had their November outing!
