English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

The ESOL program provides the academic foundation and English literacy that ESOL students need to meet challenging state and local academic standards. ESOL students are assessed regularly in English reading, writing, and oral/listening skills to determine their level of English language proficiency.

Parent Education Program (PEP)

Parents as Educational Partners (PEP) is a parent education program sponsored through PreK-12 ESOL Services Title III grant and implemented at Belvedere ES. PEP is a series of 14 to 16 classes offered to parents of ESOL students that is designed to provide more knowledge of the English language. It does this by teaching them content knowledge of the American School System, its qualities, practices, and procedures. This program hopes to increase parent participation in their child’s learning and give them more confidence to participate in events and activities at Belvedere.
