I’m Melanie and my favorite thing in Kindergarten is to be a #caring role model to our students. I am always working hard to keep myself and the classroom #balanced so our day can run as smoothly as possible. In our classroom you will find me encouraging students to be #thinkers and opening their minds to trying new possibilities.

I started my career at the age of 19 working in special education and moving on to the University of Va Hospital Ed. Program. Eventually ending up here at Belvedere where I have  spent the past 16 years as a K Instructional Assistant.

In my free time I enjoy cooking {I’m always looking up new recipes), attending music concerts, reading the latest NY Times Bestsellers, and spending time with family and friends

Kindergarten is where our students begin their journey into Belvedere PYP. In our classroom we work towards introducing all the attributes throughout the year as they use these skills to learn and grow and become more independent individuals. My hope is that they will carry these experiences with them going forward in their future school years. I look forward to another amazing year in Kindergarten!
