Hour of Code: December 3-9

Challenge yourself to complete an Hour of Code! Here are some ideas to get started!

Use the links below to access hundreds of coding activities for kids. All of these run on our school laptops, and we have all of the apps installed on our school iPads.

Coding Activities for Grades 1-3

  • Kodable (iPad app) - Create codes to get your fuzzy character through tricky mazes. Start easy and work your way up!
  • Lightbot Hour (iPad app) - Create codes to help the Lightbot guy light up specific parts of his game board. This one also starts easy but gets harder!

  • Zoopz Inchworm Game - Help the inchworm find his way home!

  • Learn to Code Activities - Click on your grade/level (Prereader, Grades 2-5, etc.) to get started with coding activities!

   

Coding Activities for Grades 3-5

  • Bitsbox - Design an app that runs online. You can share what you create with a friend and try out their app too!

  • Google’s Made with Code - Google has created tons of kids coding activities including a GIF maker, emoji maker, kaleidoscope, dancing yetis, and more!

  • Code.org - Click on your grade/level (Grades 2-5, beginner, etc.) to get started with coding activities!

  • Lightbot Hour (iPad app) - Create codes to help the Lightbot guy light up specific parts of his game board. This one starts easy but gets pretty complicated!

  • Tynker (iPad app) - This app has lots of pre-loaded activities that you can try to improve your coding skills! Choose Projects, Create a New Project, and then make your choice!
